How can I prove to myself that PAT works without having to use a different RFC 1918 address in Packet Tracer? I mean I thought the point of PAT was to allow for duplicate IPv4's addresses on different peoples private networks. But obviously I recognize that just pinging to the other private hosts IP address is only going to result in the router looking internally on its own LANS, searching vainly for a device that's not there. ![]() Is it possible to talk from a private host on a RFC1918 network to another private host on an identical RFC1918 network?Į.g.
